I’m not for or against soccer. I just wanted to say it’s the most popular sport n the world not necessarily because it’s the best.
It is the cheapest, can be played with blown up condoms wrapped in tree bark, saw that in Africa, and can be played on any surface.
Thus with it being the most accessible sport it’s hard for me to equate it with being the best because the most ppl like it. It is played in a ton of countries where that is all they can afford. Secondly other ones are so engraved in soccer tradition that they won’t play anything else either. it’s like trying to introduce tennis in a state where every child has always played baseball. Why would they switch? Ppl are too far down the soccer road, so it’s most popular for those reasons.

Sorry, as a Canadian I have to agree that most North Americans don’t give a crap about “soccer”. I even hate the fact we call it soccer. Why is football in NA called football? At which point other than punting, field goal or extra point is the “foot” associated with the ball?
