This man didn’t want to pay high rent fees, so he moved into a tiny house. It may be small but it’s actually kind of awesome.
Joel Weber is a student in Texas who wanted to manage his student debts better from the outset so he decided to build his own 145-square-foot house on wheels to save on rent while he is studying.
With the average rent close to campus being about $800, Weber’s new home will save him about $19,200.
The house features two lofts, working plumbing, electricity, a shower, and a propane stove.
He added: ‘I may live in it forever and I’m cool with that, 145 square feet might not be for everybody, and that’s OK. ‘It’s more about how I can live simple and still be grateful.’
The house is built on an 18-foot flatbed and took about a year to build.
He had help from a carpenter and electrician who both volunteered their time designing the house.
