There was someone aboard their wind chime.
When one man’s wife told him to go look at the wind chimes in the back yard. Thankfully, he gave in and finally obliged. The couple had a small, pirate-ship shaped chime hanging on their porch. Typically, it was devoid of pirates. But this afternoon in particular, it had been commandeered.
“Ahoy there!”
It was a nest full of baby birds.
No one minded them coming aboard this ship.
They were adorable pirates.
There’s the lead scallywag.
Taking care of his chirping little crew.
So sweet.
There’s dad hanging out in the branches nearby.
Keeping an eye on his boat full of cuties.
The feathered pirate family pictured above are house finches. The bird taking care of the family is the dad, which have the vibrant red color. The mothers are all-brown. What a touching little family. Hopefully they don’t take to pillaging nearby towns.
