Anastasia Steshina and her friends were shocked by the sight of this dinosaur-like spiky turtle along the Amur River in Russia.
“When we saw it, we did not even realize that it was a turtle. It reminded us of a dinosaur. I have never seen such a thing before and neither have my friends” says Anastasia. “It was biting through sticks with its jaws and tried to attack us” she added.
It turns out, this badass looking reptile is an alligator snapping turtle. The weird thing is, these turtles only live in the South East United States. How one made it all the way to Russia is a mystery. These turtles can grow up to 300 lbs and can easily snap a broom stick with their bite.
At the end of the encounter one of Anastasia’s friends picked up the snapper and released it back into the water.
He’s lucky he didn’t lose any fingers.
