Actually, that key inside the remote only unlocks the door-there is no keyhole for the starter. However, the car will have a place (you’ll find it in the owners manual) where you can place the remote and, even if the battery is removed, it will allow you to start the car. Also, that window function s something I only saw on BMWs and may be on other luxury vehicles . I am a retired car salesman and had to teach my clients about this tech!

I just went out and tried pushing the unlock button on my car remote. It unlocked the driver’s door, and did NOTHING else.
