You’d think people would learn by now: If you’re going to leave a one-star review for a respected establishment (in this case, a well known hotel in upstate New York by called The Roxbury), don’t be an asshole and ESPECIALLY don’t insinuate bad shit the way this review did:
Now, considering the story that the owner is about to tell, I wouldn’t have been able to resist the urge to lose my shit responding to this review and sound like an even bigger asshole.
Which is why this thorough response is impressive. It lays the blame squarely at the feet of those who deserve it, but manages not to come off as petty and mean.
I know the “[insert asshole here] gives a bad review to [reasonable establishment]” is practically its own genre of story at this point, but the point of all of these stories seems to all lead in one direction:
Just don’t be an asshole to the staff of a place, and don’t assume your needs supersede the needs of every living soul around you.
