A barber in Melbourne, Australia is giving hope to the homeless through haircuts. Nasir Sobhani, who refers to himself as ‘the street barber,’ has dealt with drug addiction and homelessness himself and knows the struggle of every day life that these individuals face. This is why he started the ‘Clean Cut, Clean Start project,’ to help give homeless people a second chance. “A homeless person doesn’t get the respect and attention needed, so letting them know that they are worthy of human interaction is actually the main purpose here.” Nasir said. Although many of his clients struggle with heavy drug abuse and have fallen on some really difficult times, Nasir’s haircuts provide the chance for these individuals to try and get back on their feet.
