Madison McManus, 28, says she was first introduced to hard drugs by her then-boyfriend at just 15 years old. She dropped out of school and lost her family, spending six years on the streets. McManus says she fell pregnant at 18, but gave up her daughter to keep using.
After 19 overdoses, she decided to get clean in 2018 after an arrest. Now her family is back in her life and she is trying to win back custody of her nine-year-old girl. She urges other addicts to remember there’s a “solution to this disease”.
