Graduation is a joyous time, a time to celebrate. But the actual event itself can be rather long, and when you’re sitting in a robe that can get uncomfortable you really start to question why you’re even attending. Turns out there’s one University in Japan that allows graduates to take a different approach when attending their graduation ceremony.
Kyoto University lets grads wear whatever they please when graduating, and students take pride in coming up with the most elaborate costumes that can think of to spice up a rather bland ceremony. Some are definite crowd pleasers while others miss the mark but it’s all in fun as professors and families enjoy the festivities that much more.
If given the chance, I would 100% ditch the robe for a superhero outfit.
