“It’s a little cartoonish looking character if you look from the side on the biggest pic almost Hershey kiss shaped with goggles and a smile with feet. This is an interesting one. Be back soon.”
“Rotate the pic, 90 clockwise and you can see the face (eyes/nose/mouth). it is some sort of cartoon character. Someone with talent could highlight the engraving.”
“Thinking some kind of Bingo/other game setup?”
“I have a hazy memory of my grandmother using these for dolls’ and children toys’ heads. I could be wrong as couldn’t find any pics. Would have been over 30 years ago too.”
“Perhaps for turning compost? Pointed so you could get down into the corners of a bin.”
“Google “Carp bait scoop.” I’m 99% sure that’s it. It’s a scoop for throwing chum, or bait, while fishing for carp in ponds.”
“There’s actually a long history of this in glass blowing. If that’s what OP’s object is, there’s probably a sneaky way to get the water out.”
“Looks like a 3rd party interior light or possibly an infrared light for a dashcam that records the cockpit. I see a setting on there that says “hi lo off” suggesting levels of intensity.”
“Turn it on, put the vehicle in reverse, then have someone walk behind you. Backup alarm with a proximity sensor trigger that can be turned off. I’ve seen something very similar installed on fleet vehicles.”
“Definitely man-made. The fact that it’s magnetic means iron or steel usually, but it should be rusty unless you found it when it was very fresh… As for the shape, it looks like slag or maybe some excess molten metal from a mold pour.”
“I don’t know for certain, but with the locking, hinged clamp, it could be for holding things like a block of cheese to grate it or a vegetable for a micro plane or guillotine? The thing that looks like a grater inside could be to provide grip so it doesn’t move.”
“Shot in the dark here but there are 7 sticks and each side has 21 discs. It appears as though 7 discs can fit on each stick so, presuming the sticks are inserted into those holes in an upright fashion, one could imagine the goal is to roll the dice and move a piece from your side over to your opponent’s side. Assuming both players start with three full sticks of 7 (21 total), maybe that middle peg is some sort of a “war” peg where you have to outmaneuver the opponent?”
“A key hanger perhaps? Slide the bottom jaw forward, place keyring, slide back.”
“So, my grandma had something similar to this growing up, but it was plain, not decorative or fish shaped, but the design was the same. She used hers as a counter top dish towel clip. It laid flat on the counter, with the teeth hanging over the edge. She’d slide the top out, hang the towel on the extension, then slide it back. The teeth would hold the towel and let it dry. So…maybe that?”
“Mud shoes. I’ve seen some mudlarkers wear something similar to these when they go out on sandy areas in England. If you look on YouTube for a mudlarking video titled something like “we almost died at high tide” then you should be able to find them.”
“To me that looks like a horse snout.”
