Cool Stuff
Lodge 10″ Cast Iron Skillet – Unless you somehow manage to lose this or someone steals it, this thing will last you your entire lifetime and it’s freaking $20!
Koss KSC75 – I am truly shocked by the sound that these $17 headphones produce. There’s a saying in Korea that Koss is made by aliens because of how good they sound for the price. One of if not the best value in audio.
KZ ZST – People say that “the ZST’s are the best for budget in ears” $20 for this level of quality is a steal!
Opinel Knife – A sub $20 knife that’s not junk?!?! The Opinel just work. There is no springs or scales to worry about. The steel and locking mechanism is great. Plus the design being proven reliable for over 100 years doesn’t hurt either.
Swiss Army Classic SD – One of the best small tools out there, especially for the size and weight…you can put this on your keychain. The knife takes a razor edge, there are no better pair of small scissors out there, the toothpick and tweezers work well, and the mail file/flathead screwdriver come in handy too.
Morakniv Companion Fixed Blade – This knife is often overlooked because of its price. That being said the price as opposed to the overwhelming quality is amazing! With the carbon steel blade and Morakniv’s excellent heat treat, you get a razor sharp edge on the blade and it holds it well.
Logitech M510 – Great wireless mouse for a minimalist/non-competitive gaming setup. Very comfortable and fits nicely in the hand. The side buttons are useful when web browsing
Anker Soundcore Mini – The Little Mini Bluetooth Speaker That Could. Great volume. Fills a room and is easy to use. Wonderful long battery life and very quick to recharge. The Soundcore Mini packs a bunch of value into its tiny footprint.
Creative Pebble – For under $30, these computer speakers do their job adequately well, just don’t expect audiophile quality from them. You won’t be blown away but you won’t be disappointed. Great for casual listening.
Klein Tools Multi-Bit Screwdriver – Best multi screwdriver for the money. The metal bits are well made so they don’t wear down under day-to-day use and it’s Klein so it’s quality.
Wiha Precision Screwdrivers – I have a Wiha set that I have used for 15 years. Nothing is as solid and comfy. German engineering at its best. Fantastic tool company.
Klein Wire Cutter and Wire Stripper – Klein Tools wire stripper/crimper tool is a quality “made in USA” tool with a comfortable handle that is reinforced so grips don’t slip off. Tool has all labels in print on one side and forged on the back so they’ll always be legible. Tips work well for grabbing, pulling, and bending small wires. Cutting blades and crimpers (for insulated and non-insulated connectors) work as intended too.
Rollerblade Wheels For Office Chairs – Probably the best $20 office upgrade you can make. These puppies will have you gliding across the room like an olympic figure skater. They’re silent, don’t make marks or scratch the floor, and take about 5 minutes to install. Get you some.
Thermoflask Vacuum-Insulated Water Bottle – Practically no difference between this and the Hydroflask, except the price. Same perfomance, half the price.
Zojirushi Stainless Steel Vacuum Insulated Mug – This things retains temperature like you wouldn’t believe; it’s almost comical. The first day I got it I made tea in my electric kettle at around noon and it was still hot enough to burn if I drank it too fast at 5PM.
