BTW the Matrix: Cypher betrays all his friends and all of humanity so he can live in a fantasy world in the matrix. But on their submarine his friends have their own matrix: remember when they take Neo through various training exercises? Why doesn’t Cypher just say, “Hey guys, I need a vacation for a while, I’d like to go into our mini-matrix for a few months”? For that matter, they all complained about the food and the Spartan conditions … when they had the means to take dream vacations any time they wanted. Wouldn’t letting everyone get an hour or two a day of paradise be good for morale?
And, the plot of almost every Santa Claus movie is: There really is a Santa Claus. Yet after watching probably hundreds of such movies in my life, I still don’t believe that there’s a Santa Claus. Apparently propaganda isn’t as effective as people think. Seriously, we all know there really isn’t a Santa Claus. Why endless movies trying to convince us there is?
