“time period it was created in far before human beings came to this part of the world” Well hmm, I can think of at least 3 theories to explain that: 1. The figurine was left behind by aliens. 2. Geologists theories about when the rock stratum was laid down are wrong. 3. At least one human being managed to reach this part of the world before the generally accepted date.
#1 is certainly the most exciting, but the other two theories are far more plausible. #3 would be totally unremarkable. I don’t have any trouble believing that some lone explorer or small group traveled to an unknown land thousands of years ago and records of this expedition were lost, perhaps because they never made it home alive.
